Wastes that are generated as a result of construction, demolition, renovation, and excavation activities must be handled and disposed in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
Assessment and/or sampling must be performed prior to the disturbance of any materials suspected to contain a contaminant such as asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, petroleum products, or other potentially hazardous materials. EHSS and/or Physical Plant Environmental Shop should be contacted prior to disturbance of these materials to assist with assessment and sampling. EHSS must be contacted to assist with the disposal of contaminated building material waste.
