Oil Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans

US EPA’s Oil Pollution Prevention Regulations stipulate requirements for oil storage containers including drums, tanks, transformers and other oil-filled operational equipment.  The University’s compliance with these requirements must be documented in an Oil Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan.  EHSS maintains the University’s SPCC Plans and provides compliance guidance and training to the University community.

Any spill or release of oil at Syracuse University must be reported to EHSS immediately and handled in accordance with the University’s Oil Spill Response Protocol.

Written plans for Main Campus, South Campus, and Ainsley Drive are available at the EHSS office or by request.
