Avoid all contact with wild animals. Wild animals, whether alive or dead, can spread disease and pose allergen or physical hazards.
If there is a wild animal inside a campus building, or outside on campus and creating a nuisance or appearing to be injured or sick:
- Do not attempt to remove or disturb the animal.
- Notify the Department of Public Safety (DPS) immediately at 315.443.2224
- Facilities Services staff will respond to address the situation. Facilities Services staff should contact NYS DEC’s Regional Wildlife Office at 315.426.7431 if the animal appears to be injured, sick or diseased.
- For dead animals, Facilities Services staff should follow appropriate animal carcass disposal procedures.
