Guidance Documents

Syracuse University’s Environmental Health & Safety Services (EHSS) has developed guidance documents for several categories of highly hazardous materials used in University laboratories.  These guidance documents offer general safety information and standardized best practices to implement specific to these categories of materials. Principal investigators and laboratory personnel are encouraged to use these guidance documents to develop safe working, handling, and emergency practices and procedures for the highly hazardous materials being used in their laboratories.

If your laboratory is working with a unique hazard that is not identified on the list below, and you would like more information on safety considerations, please contact EHSS.
