Selecting a Disinfectant
The EPA has identified disinfectants that are qualified for use against the COVID-19 Virus. The CDC has also identified a 70% alcohol solution is appropriate for surface disinfection. Surface disinfectants received from the University’s central COVID-19 supplies are approved by the EPA and CDC unless indicated otherwise. Safety and use information for disinfectants obtained from the University’s central COVID-19 supplies is provided below.

Disinfectant Safety and Use Information
- Always read label for safe and effective use instructions
- Store and use disinfectants appropriately
- Use gloves and eye protection when recommended on the product label
- Do not mix products together
- Use in ventilated areas, and do not eat, drink or inject disinfecting products
- Do not use surface disinfectants directly on skin for skin sanitizing
- Wash hands after cleaning and disinfecting
