Universal Waste (Bulbs, Ballasts and Batteries)

Universal wastes are specific hazardous wastes streams such as batteries, lamps and mercury-containing equipment. They are managed differently compared to more complex hazardous waste requirements. EHSS has developed specific programs for the collection and recycling of universal wastes according to state and federal regulations. These EHSS programs are intended to promote recycling as well as proper disposal.

If you would like assistance in managing universal waste or need a waste pickup, please contact EHSS’ Hazardous Waste group at 315.443.6545 or submit an online Request for Service.
